Republican Party Platform

National Security

Our country's first priority is the security of our nation. We must do everything in our power to defend our citizens. This includes stricter regulations on our border and providing for our soldiers and veterans. Peace with other countries is essential for our well-being, and that is also one of our priorities.

Government Reform

Washington's broken, and we must fix it. Budgets have ran out of control, and we must control spending. We believe in empowering the states and improving public services. Also, Congress must provide oversight of Government programs to help our country run smoothly. Reform the government and protect the people - that is our main goal.

Economy

We believe in keeping what you earn. That is why we will reduce taxes for every American. Small businesses are the engine of our economy, and we should not raise their taxes. In a time of economic crisis, raising taxes is not the solution. Creating new jobs and rebuilding homeownership will expand oppurtunities and promote prosperity.

Energy

We believe in energy independence. This involves drilling offshore. We must not send hundreds of billions of dollars to other country to rely on people.

Environment

Global warming is a serious problem. That is why we plan to address the climate responsibly. As part of a global climate change strategy, we support technology-driven, market-based solutions that will decrease emissions, reduce excess greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, and increase energy efficiency. Increasing American energy supply and reducing our dependence on foreign oil is the path to go.

Healthcare

We will expand our current healthcare system to give patients more options. Our principle is "Do No Harm". We will reduce health costs while not raising taxes. We do not believe in government interference in your healthcare. In essence, we will improve healthcare quality while reducing cost. Our current emergency response system is not perfect, and we will improve the system to respond as fast as possible in a time of crisis.

Education

Education is a parental right, a state and local responsibility, and a national strategic interest. We give students the best teachers from elementary education to higher education. We help families pay for college and beyond.

Crime

Protecting the American people is an important priority. We will improve law enforcements and impose stricter regulations. Our prisons must be reformed and our streets must be protected. That is our goal.

Values

We defend the 2nd Amendment. Every citizen has the right to possess firearms, and we will do everything in our power to protect the Constitution and the citizens. We also believe in preseverving traditional marriage. We oppose abortion and embryonic stem cell research. From its founding, America has been an idea as much as a political or geographic entity. It has meant a set of ideals that speak to the highest aspirations of humanity. From the beginning, we have stood by these ideals to affirm the rights of the people under the rule of law.
