The Endgame

Many games does not reach the endgame. In this stage, there are only a few pieces left, and any remaining pawns become very valuable because they have more potential to promote into a stronger piece (usually a queen). This is where most checkmates occur. Even though there are very few pieces, the endgame sometimes requires the most tactics and strategies in order to promote an extra pawn to a queen. Unfortunately, it is too advanced for me to explain it in this brief tutorial. There are many books written by grandmasters that teaches you how to master the endgame. But for now, here are some examples on how the finally ends.
